Growing up with parents from a different country could have posed many challenges for this inner-city youth, but Elizabeth Teryima Ouleymatou Ushi has an enduring spirit. Hard work and determination have helped Elizabeth overcome a myriad of obstacles that could have deterred her from succeeding.
At an early age, she was taught that education could provide a better future for herself and her family, and since then, she has committed herself to academic success. Elizabeth believes without aid from God, her supportive parents, and encouraging mentors, whose advice has helped shape the path for her future endeavors, her many achievements would not have been possible.
Elizabeth plans to attend Agnes Scott College and major in Chemistry or Anthropology. Her Career goal is to become a neonatologist.
The graduation ceremony for Booker T. Washington is Saturday, May 24 at 12 p.m.
