Heavonly Boykin, 18, has maintained a part-time job and 3.0 GPA throughout her tenure at South Atlanta High School, and will soon become the first in her immediate family to receive a high school diploma and attend college. Read more.
Mekhal Jones, 17, has become accustomed to being the ānew kid.ā He has had stints in DeKalb County Schools and Clayton County Schools before attending South Atlanta High School, where he will graduate on May 22. After losing two influential women in his life to cancer, Mekhal fought on to succeed in spite of the adversity he faced. Read more.
