With the life motto, “there are no weaknesses here; just strengths waiting to be developed,” it is no wonder the metro Atlanta community knows Emily T. Holland for her patience, optimism and determination to unlock the doors of opportunity for Atlanta Public Schools’ students, parents and staff. As the current Family Involvement Liaison for APS, Holland relentlessly serves the district’s community through its own parent resource center: Parents as Partners Academic Center (PAPAC).
PAPAC believes fathers are essential in their children’s educational success, creating realistic positive male role models. Through Holland’s efforts, PAPAC held their inaugural Men’s Night Out Empowerment Expo at Atlanta’s Habitat for Humanity in January.

Here, Holland not only displayed her commitment to children and parental engagement, but she also expresses some of PAPAC main goals: to strengthen, focus, provide, explore, enhance and develop. These are some of the same goals that have guided her to success throughout her educational career.
Morgan Havig, Director of Family Services for the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, believes Holland is more than deserving of her accomplished achievements.
“She has a holistic approach to investing in [her] families,” said Havig. “She truly thinks about developing the whole person and is always finding new opportunities to empower and educate.”
