CASIE will host the 5th International College and University Fair in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 17, 2011, at Atlanta International School.
Students (and their parents) studying in International Baccalaureate programmes in schools throughout the southeastern United States will have an opportunity to meet with colleges and universities in the USA and other English-speaking countries who are particularly interested in recruiting IB candidates. This is a chance to find out what it takes to apply to schools outside of the U.S. and learn why the IB Diploma makes a difference.
Schedule – Saturday, September 17, 2011
9:00am – 10:00am: Plenary Session for Students and Parents – Auditorium.
9:00: Introduction: General importance of IB Diploma study by Suzanna Jemsby, CASIE Executive Director
9:15: Overview of application processes to colleges/universities systems
10:00am – 12:00pm University Fair open to Students and Parents – SAC

In 2010, Deerwood Academy became the eighth school in Atlanta Public Schools to be awarded International Baccalaureate (IB) certification. The other schools are Bolton Academy, Morris Brandon, Garden Hills, Warren T. Jackson, E. Rivers and Sarah Smith elementary schools. Sutton Middle School received its IB certification in 2008 and North Atlanta High in 1982, making it the oldest IB program in the Southeast. Most recently, Jackson High School and Beecher Hills elementary became candidates for IB certification.
