Much of Monique Terrell’s success was propelled by self-determination and perseverance. She believes that the encouragement she received from her school counselor, Mrs. Keala Edwards-Cooper and her teacher, Ms. Ayesha Denny, made her success at Carver possible. Although Monique has battled Sickle Cell Anemia her entire life, her aunt has always inspired her to set high expectations and goals for herself; this inspiration has allowed Monique to triumph over her circumstances, and for this, she is deeply grateful. Monique’s experience with Sickle Cell Anemia has motivated her to pursue a career as a Pediatric Hematologist. With over $2 million in scholarship offers, Monique plans to major in pre-med at Xavier University of Louisiana All APS commencement exercises will be available for online viewing via live stream by visiting https://new.livestream.com/accounts/7427971 and clicking on a specific school.
