Congratulations to APS Knights Girls water polo team for placing third in the Georgia High School Water Polo Association (GSHSWPA) State Championships. Â While the majority of the team members are from Grady High School, four members are from Pace Academy and Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC).
Knights team member Ciara Sadaka, (Pace Academy sophomore), received the 2013 Girls GHSWPA Defensive Player of the Year Award in recognition of her outstanding season. Sloan Hodges, (Grady sophomore), Jessica Hume, (Grady sophomore), and Jessica Tolbert, (GAC senior) were invited to play in the All-Star Games held in mid-October.
The team members also played on the water polo teams for their respective schools in the regular GHSWPA competition. The girls were encouraged and supported to remarkable success by Coach Monica Szalma, Robin Smith, and Stuart Sheldon.
