APS celebrates National School Lunch Week with International Theme

APS joined the nation in celebrating healthy lunch choices during National School Lunch Week with the theme, “Healthy International Meals” from October 15-18.  Celebrity chefs and volunteer chefs visited 12 APS schools from October 15-18 to promote the benefits of healthy school lunches, and celebrate the flavors, ingredients, and culture of various countries throughout the world.

During National School Lunch Week, all school cafeterias served Asian, Mexican, Caribbean, and Italian foods. Chef Nicole Banks-Bonilla,from the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, visited Mays High School while Chef Miguel Francisco visited Hutchinson Elementary School.  Chef Jeremy Ruthuku visited Young Middle School, and Chef Pratik Jani from Masala Fresh visited Garden Hills Elementary.
