Students at Fickett Elementary & Bunche Middle School Commemorate 9/11

by talkupaps

Today, students at Fickett Elementary & Bunche Middle School got a glimpse of a moment in time many people will never forget.

In honor of the 12 year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, students watched documentaries and footage about the event, while engaging in classroom discussion.

Students asked in-depth and thought provoking questions about the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. Teachers also incorporated the anniversary into classroom writing as students wrote essays about their thoughts and feelings on the event.

Additionally, in Dr. Burse’s class at Bunche Middle School, students wrote poems to comfort a student their age who may have lost a loved one on that tragic day.

Atlanta Public Schools remembers and salutes all of those who served as first responders, lost their lives, and work every day to keep our country safe.
