Toomer Elementary joins NASCAR’s Denny Hamlin, FedEx and the Red Cross in the ‘Race to Prepare’

by talkupaps

NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin, FedEx, and the Atlanta Red Cross hosted “Race to Prepare” at Toomer Elementary School to teach students that it’s never too early to learn how to prepare for emergencies and disasters in their own community. “September is National Preparedness Month, and this is an excellent way for children to pass on this important information to their families and grow a safer community,” said Ruben Brown, media relations specialist for the Atlanta Red Cross.

Hamlin (pictured above, top right) encouraged students to share what they learned about hurricanes and emergency preparedness with their family and friends. Each student packed their own emergency preparedness kit to take home which included batteries, gloves, a flashlight, personal hygiene products, a coloring book and crayons, and a first aid kit.

Toomer Principal Nicole Evans Jones (pictured, bottom right) and SRT-3 Executive Director Dr. Robin Hall (pictured, top left) also were in attendance. Check out the photo gallery here.

Jimmie Johnson is 5-points behind the Sprint Cup leader Carl Edwards and
will enter NASCAR predictions and offers decent betting value at
+600 in Crown Royal odds with 3-career wins at Richmond.
Do you have the nerve to take on the fastest go-kart
track in Pigeon Forge. Kyle Busch has been the top racer in this race recently, winning two of the
last three Fed – Ex 400’s.
