Burgess-Peterson Academy talks pre-K with parents

by talkupaps

A dozen parents attended Burgess-Peterson Academy’s first Pre-K Parent Chat with Principal Robin Robbins on Thursday. Held in the school’s parent center, the chat was an informal gathering for parents to share their child’s pre-K experience, voice their concerns and offer suggestions to Principal Robbins.

Burgess-Peterson has two pre-K classrooms funded by Bright from the Start. Principal Robbins said her pre-K students will be involved with gardening activities and that the school is currently applying for a grant from Georgia Organics. She also stated that pre-K students will be offered music classes beginning next week as well as Spanish and Mandarin Chinese classes this fall, as a part of the Confucius Institute housed at Coan Middle School. In addition, Principal Robbins talked about the school’s “Bulldog Pride” program that rewards students who exhibit positive behavior. The Pre-K Parent Chats will be held once a month throughout the school year.
