Scenes from APS’ New Teacher Orientation

APS’ annual New Teacher Orientation, held Thursday and Friday at Long Middle School, offers an opportunity for newly hired teachers to learn about system policies, procedures and current district initiatives. Teachers are engaging in hands-on professional learning that will increase their skill set and further prepare them for the classroom. Some of the trainings will include Content Area Sessions, Consistency Management and Cooperative Discipline (CMCD), and Ethics. Teachers will walk away with strategies and resources to become more effective teachers and continue to improve student achievement.
