WSB-TV filmed Whitefoord Elementary students working in the Edgewood Community Learning Garden on Sept. 28. This taping, featuring Joe Washington from HGTV, will be used as a public service announcement highlighting the work of the Southeastern Horticultural Society in the Edgewood neighborhood. The Edgewood Community Learning Garden is the Southeastern Horticultural Society’s first community garden project; SHS is excited to be working so closely with Whitefoord Elementary both in the garden and at the school. Kyla Zaro-Moore (pictured above at right) serves as the education coordinator for the garden. She has been working with kindergarten through second-grade teachers on science lessons in the classrooms. For more on the garden and how it came to be, check out the press release we did over the summer here. There’s also a fun photo gallery from the build here.
