Atlanta Public Schools Athletics Roundup (Sept. 28-Oct. 2, 2026): Jackson Sweeps APS Cross Country Championships

Highlights Around the District:

• Maynard Jackson boys and girls sweep the APS Cross Country Championship titles, with the girls winning their fourth City Championship in a row!
• Midtown volleyball (24-8) finished region play with a perfect 8-0 record and won the region championship for Region 4 Class 6A! They are ranked No. 8 in Class 6A based on the GHSA Postseason Rankings.
• No. 7 Mays (5A) and No. 7 Douglass (4A) reamin in the AJC Varsity top 10. Mays (6-0) came from behind to defeat Lithonia and remain undefeated, while Douglass defeated Greater Atlanta Christian 54-48 in triple overtime.
