Enjoy the self-advancing, photo slideshow of Read Across America Week. Photo credit: Allison M Slocum and Brianna Mason © In celebration of Read Across America Week, Burgess-Peterson Academy welcomed more than 50 community leaders into K–5 classrooms to share stories and inspire a love of reading. Among the guest readers were Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson, who read “Be You!” by Peter H. Reynolds to Dustin Ecker’s 5th-grade math class, as well as Atlanta Board of Education Vice Chair Ken Zeff and Georgia State Senator Sonya Halpern. Their visits helped bring the joy of literacy to life for students while showing how community support strengthens and enriches education.
