September is National Attendance Awareness Month, and Atlanta Public Schools marked the occasion with a poster contest led by the Office of Social Services. The contest invited PreK–12 students to create original artwork about the value of showing up to school. More than 150 entries were submitted for the Attendance Awareness Poster Contest, which centered on the theme “Here Today, Ready for Tomorrow!”. The theme reminded students that consistent attendance supports their success today and lays the foundation for their future. Judging occurred at the Student and Family Support Hub on August 27, and the winners were announced at the September 2 Atlanta Board of Education meeting.
