If your March Madness Bracket is busted already, don’t worry. You can root for these APS alumni whose teams reached the collegiate basketball postseason. North Atlanta alumnus Messiah Thompson is a point guard for Long Beach State, which made it to the big dance. Their first game is Thursday, March 21, at 2 p.m. against No.2 seed Arizona. The game will be on TBS. APS also has two alumni in the women’s NIT tournament. Maynard Jackson alumnae Zay Dyer plays for Troy University, and Douglass alumnae Nekiyah Thompson plays for Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). Eastern Kentucky lost its opening-round game to Purdue Fort Wayne on Wednesday. Troy will play the winner of FIU and Stetson in the second round of the tournament. Good luck to our APS basketball stars, and good luck in your bracket pools.
