April is National Autism Awareness Month, and the Atlanta Public Schools’ Special Education Advisory Committee is proud to celebrate all month long! The committee wants APS to “Light it Up BLUE” throughout the month of April by wearing blue in support of autism awareness.
National Autism Awareness Month focuses on sharing stories and providing opportunities to increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism, fostering worldwide support. Schools are encouraged to spread awareness, promote acceptance, ignite change, and promote inclusiveness by sharing a variety of resources and participating in suggested activities to increase awareness of autism and celebrate differences.
This year’s World Autism Month theme, “Connect With Kindness,” encourages everyone to commit to creating a kinder world. Click here to learn more.
