Dunbar Elementary School Hosts Storybook Character Parade October 30

To celebrate students’ love for reading, Atlanta Public Schools’ Dunbar Elementary will have a Storybook Character Parade at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 30. The parade starts at the Dunbar Recreation Center, located at 477 Windsor St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30312, and ends at the school.

Dunbar students, parents, staff and members of the community are invited to dress as a character from their favorite book, and bring the book to participate in the parade. Maynard Holbrook Jackson High School’s Marching Jaguars will also participate in the event.

During the parade, Dunbar Elementary will distribute books to students along the parade route that were donated to the school by community partners.

Parking will be available in the school’s front parking lot or the Dunbar Recreation Center lot.

All members of the media are invited to attend.
