APS Hosts 5th Annual Football Media Day July 23 at Bunche Middle School

ATLANTA—Atlanta Public Schools’ (APS) 5th Annual Football Media Day will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23 in the auditorium of the new Ralph J. Bunche Middle School, 1925 Niskey Lake Rd. SW, Atlanta, GA 30331.

Mays HS - DOMECOMING2014-033APS high school head football coaches and student athletes will discuss off-season conditioning and provide an overview of their team’s outlook for the upcoming 2015 football season. The event will also feature former University of Georgia (UGA) All-American football player Travis Stroud. Stroud built a repertoire for exhibiting true skill in both baseball and football. He graduated from UGA with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems. Stroud now owns Quest Development Inc., an IT consulting company and a sports-minded clothing line, The GameBreaker Corporation.

News and sports media are invited to attend.

Later this fall, the district will host the 2015 APS High School Classic at Lakewood Stadium Saturday, Aug. 22 featuring the following teams:

  • 11:00 a.m. – Tri-Cities vs. Hardaway-Columbus
  • 2:00 p.m. – Grady vs. Washington
  • 5:00 p.m. – Carver-Atlanta vs. Carver-Columbus
  • 8:00 p.m. – Mays vs. Langston Hughes
