Maxwell (Max) Hayes is an outstanding senior student leader at North Atlanta High School. He has been a student in the North Atlanta cluster since first grade, where he attended Jackson Elementary and Sutton Middle School. Max is an extremely well rounded student who is very talented in art.
With a 4.0 GPA, Max has made the Principal’s List (Cumulative 93 GPA or higher) all four years as a student at North Atlanta. He was also voted Most Outstanding Freshman by the school faculty, Most Outstanding 11th Grade Visual Arts Student, and during his senior year, Max was named a Georgia Merit Scholar.

Max is always more than willing to give his personal time to others to help them get to the next level. This is reflected in Max’s work as a camp counselor with visually impaired students. During the summer, Max works at camps sponsored by the Center for Visually Impaired as a sited guide camp counselor. Max maintains a state of curiosity in all his disciplines and is quite the leader. North Atlanta High School Principal Curtis Douglass describes Max as “selfless, kind and courageous.” “Even though he is in the 12th grade, Max operates like a very mature well-rounded college student who is independently driven and very consistent,” said Douglass.
In December 2014, Max was named a 2015 Posse Scholar, where he was awarded a four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarship from The Posse Foundation, Inc. worth $100,000 to attend Brandies University in Waltham, MA.
