South Atlanta High School French teacher Diana Pierre-Louis on special assignment with the American Council on the Teacher of Foreign Languages

Diana Pierre-Louis, a French teacher at Atlanta Public Schools’ South Atlanta High School of Computer, Animation and Design, is on special assignment at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense, selected Pierre-Louis to review testing materials that are used by multiple U.S. government agencies to assess proficiency in a targeted language.

ACTFL is committed to improving and expanding the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels instruction. The members-only organization is comprised of more than 12,000 language educators and administrators ranging from elementary through graduate education. Pierre-Louis will complete her assignment by Feb. 18.
