Sarah Smith Elementary students feed 55 families with proceeds from lemonade stand

Donations went to The Suthers Center, an outreach program for needy families.

3 fifth graders at Sarah Smith Elementary School managed to raise enough money to feed 55 families with their Jr. Beta Club sponsored lemonade stand. William Lasco, Gus Thomas, and Aydin Bandukwala raised $247 by asking for donations rather than giving a fixed price for a cup of lemonade.

The boys donated their proceeds to The Suthers Center, an outreach program for needy families. A representative from the center brought a truck filled with boxes of food to show the boys how their generosity and charitable efforts would go a long way in helping feeding families in need.
