Douglass High Valedictorian Jamariel Hobbs Headed to Emory

by talkupaps

Jamariel Hobbs is excited to be selected as valedictorian of Frederick Douglass High School. His talents and strengths as an exemplar and well-rounded student are exhibited not only at school, but away from school as well.

Amazingly, Jamariel taught himself Spanish, Japanese and guitar through a combination of books and music. He commends the teachers, counselors, principal, and administrators at Frederick Douglass High School for pushing him to strive harder and to do so with optimism.

Jamariel lives by the quote “Everything happens for a reason.” He plans to pursue a degree in Psychology at Emory University in preparation for his career as a neurologist or endocrinologist.

Douglass High School’s graduation ceremony is Friday, May 23 at 8 p.m at the Atlanta Civic Center.
