Jones won first place in the high jump, 100-meter hurdles, and 300-meter hurdles. Jackson had standout performances from the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams with both teams winning 1st place. Diamond Reese was named MVP of field events winning 1st place in the shot put and discus throw.
The Lady Jags placed in all events making it a true team effort in earning enough points to win the entire meet.
“It feels great because the girls have dedicated themselves this season to being successful and winning these championships,” said Jackson’s Head Coach Thomas Russell. “These were pre-season goals that we set for ourselves as a team.”
The Lady Jags are looking to take this momentum to sectionals with the goal to match last year’s success and have the most players qualify for the State Tournament. Sectionals take place this Saturday, April 26th at Lakewood Stadium.
