2014 Atlanta Families’ Awards nominations and applications now open

Nominate an excellent teacher, assistant principal or principal for the 2014 Atlanta Families’ Awards for Excellence in Education (AFAEE)!  The AFAEE was founded in 2005 as a way to recognize the “best of the best” in Atlanta Public Schools and retain top educators to the district.  This year, we are excited to announce the AFAEE has expanded to honor effective teachers and leaders in Atlanta Public Schools and Fulton County Schools!

Award recipients are chosen by demonstrating excellence in three areas:

·         student achievement

·         enhancing students’ self-esteem

·         collaborating with key stakeholders for the benefit of students.

2014 winners have the power to make a significant difference with $3,500 for a classroom or school project, $1,500 for professional development, and $2,500 for personal use.

All interested teachers and school leaders can register and begin completing their application starting Monday, January 27, 2014.  Application deadline is Friday, MARCH 21, 2014.  You do not have to be nominated to apply, but all nominated educators are invited to apply.   Visit the AFAEE website (www.atlantafamilies.org) to find out more, see past winners, and complete your application!
