Bethune students deepen literacy with successful men in the community

Reading is a fundamental key to success at Bethune Elementary School, and through a partnership with AM1380 WAOK Talk Radio Host Derrick Boazman, The Real (Read, Excel, Achieve, and Lead) Men Read Program is now offered at Bethune.

Boazman is committed to forming bonds between young male students and successful men in the community through this reading initiative designed to deepen literacy and instill a love for reading in students.

Through the Real Men Read Program, over forty successful men from the Atlanta community visited Bethune to read and mentor students. These mentors have a wide range in careers, including engineering, law, architecture, transportation, business and professional boxing.
