Coan Middle School principal Betsy Bockman is seeking help from the community this year as the school embarks upon its second annual Teacher Secret Santa Program. Bockman was thrilled with the amount of support the school and teachers received last year when they launched the Secret Santa program. “There are so many things that teachers can use that just can’t be covered by our limited funds—core curriculum materials, software, resources, primary source documents, science lab materials, and other curriculum enriching supplies and items,” says Bockman. “Like all middle schools, Coan students are academically diverse and the teachers need lots of different resources and activities to meet their needs and interests.” Teachers and students agree that the program was a great success last year and the teachers were so appreciative. “They were thrilled by the wrapped gifts under the holiday tree in the media center–gifts tailored to their students and classrooms,” said Bockman. Coan supporters who would like to participate can deliver the wrapped and clearly labeled gifts to the Coan school by 12:00 noon THURSDAY December 19th. Coan Middle School is temporarily located this school year at 145 Fourth Avenue , Atlanta, GA 30317.
