Humphries invites Author Patrick Phillips to discuss parental involvement

Patrick Phillips, author, visits Humphries PTA meeting and discusses his book.

Author Patrick Phillips met with parents at a Humphries Elementary School PTA meeting to discuss the importance of parental involvement and the impact it has on a child’s academic performance. He referenced his book, Decisions: a Young Man’s Guide to Avoiding the Middle and High School Traps and copies of the book were given away at the end of the meeting.

In December, the PTA parents will participate in the Real Talk Book Club to discuss the book, make vision boards to highlight their life goals, and be challenged to repeat this activity with their children.

“Mr. Phillips was an excellent speaker,” said G. Quinn Howard, PTA president. “He helped to motivate us all in a tremendous way. He showed us how parental involvement makes a huge difference in the success in our students!”

Parents receive a copy of Phillips’ book in a raffle
