Therrell students engage in extracurricular activities focused on the arts and sciences

D.M. Therrell Educational Complex recently began offering a drama club led by Mr. Griffin, a drama enthusiast and teacher at Therrell. Currently more than 28 students participate in the drama club after school each week. These students are working on various drama techniques including acting, pantomime and directing. The students hope to relive history with their first production scheduled to debut during Black History Month.

Additionally, Therrell HOSA members recently hosted a successful blood drive for the third year in a row.

HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of ACTE. HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA’s goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership.

Through the blood drive students hope to encourage awareness throughout the school and community. Therrell HOSA members want people to understand the impact they can make by donating blood.
