Atlanta Public School’s newest addition, Westside Atlanta Charter School, held their official ribbon cutting ceremony earlier this school year, led to their ceremony by the Georgia Tech Marching Band. Guest speaker Joy Fitzgerald, CEO and President of the Atlanta Housing Authority, expressed her joy and excitement at the growth of the neighborhood and looks forward to Westside Atlanta becoming an anchor in the community. Councilwoman Felicia A. Moore also attended the event and was delighted at Westside Atlanta’s diversity in ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, and neighborhoods. Principal Pete Settlemayer expressed great enthusiasm and appreciation for all the support and looks forward to building a long lasting and strong relationship between the school, students, parents and the community.
