APS Middle Students to Participate in Junior Achievement’s Programming at Discovery Center

APS students with Dan Cathy, President & Chief Operating Officer of Chick-fil-A

On August 20th, APS celebrated the Junior Achievement’s Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center at their grand opening ceremony.  Jacob Croskey from Coan, Angel Crawford from Coretta Scott King, and Taj West from Long Middle represented APS at this event by mingling with top executives while volunteering at the Chick-fil-A store.  APS is excited to enhance financial literacy and career readiness in our students through this partnership.

Throughout the year, APS 6th and 7th graders will participate in this financial literacy program that brings economic education to life. It begins in the classroom and culminates to the discovery center, where students receive unique job assignments and make financial decisions, manage budgets, and more with local Atlanta businesses. This simulation provides students the rare opportunity to experience their financial future first-hand.
