Georgia State Lawmakers, Speaker of the House, David Ralston along with State House Representative Demetrius Douglas (former pro football player), meet with South Atlanta CAD Career & Technical Instruction (CTI) Coordinator, Phyllis Hayden-Johnson and CTI students, Canessa Cantrell and Elizabeth Morton.
State Representative Douglas took time out of his busy schedule to give a private tour of the Georgia State Capitol while narrating the law making legislative process. Students were afforded the exclusive opportunity of touring Governor Nathan Deal’s office.
After touring the Capitol, Rep. Douglas dined with CTI Coordinator and students at Underground Atlanta.
During this visit, Representative Douglas agreed to partner with South Atlanta High’s CTI students by assisting them in their career pursuit in public service. He also agreed to allow our students to become Pages for him during the 2014 Legislative Session. He vowed to do whatever it takes to assist our students in achieving their dreams. In an addition note, Phyllis R. Hayden-Johnson was named New CTI Coordinator of the Year for the entire state of Georgia. Congratulations!
