King Middle Students Learn to Write from Music

The seventh graders at King Middle School enjoyed a writing workshop called “Rap, Rhythm & Rhyme: Rebuilding the Writing Foundation.” This highly energetic, interactive workshop empowers students to organize their thoughts before writing them on paper. The students were fully engaged as they were learning to “Let it flow, and fix it later.”

Erik Cork is an internationally recognized writer and creator of “Rap, Rhythm and Rhyme,” who uses music, colorful visuals, and audience participation to enrich the English and Language Arts curriculum.  He turns rigorous state standards and itemized objectives into continuous teaching and learning parties.  Erik’s Language Arts lessons can be easily merged within any teacher’s lesson plan, and are taught in over 44 states and seven countries.
