Toomer Students Receive Postcards From Around the World!

The Pre-Kindergarten classes at Toomer Elementary are exploring ways in which different cultures and communities live around the world. As a part of the Daily Life In Many Lands unit, the families in Ms. Max and Ms. Hawkin’s Pre-K class requested family and friends to send postcards to the school that include interesting facts about the places where they live. The response was overwhelming as 75 postcards were waiting in the office when the students returned from spring break! The students took turns dressing up as the mail carrier and delivering the postcards as they learned about various states and countries.

The postcards continue to arrive daily, representing 25 states and 15 different countries on 4 continents– including New Zealand, Israel, France, Japan and Australia. The Pre-K students have enjoyed learning fun and interesting facts, putting stickers on the map and globe to represent each postcard, and hearing from friends and family from far away!
