NASA Explores Space With Springdale Park

On April 18, a NASA representative shared a special space presentation to students at Springdale Park. The students learned about the space station and explored the daily life of an astronaut through photos, videos, and examples of space food. They were fully engaged as they learned about robonauts, rovers, history, and more!

The video presentations demonstrated how astronauts brush their teeth, use the restroom, and sleep in space. “The most interesting thing I learned was that astronauts sleep on the wall so that they won’t float away,” says Nylah Shepherd, a 2nd grader. The students thoroughly enjoyed learning from a NASA representative, and asked a number of engaging questions. NASA presented the students and staff with gifts including pens, drawstring bags, booklets, and magnets.
