GSPA Director Joe Dennis’s comments:
“Isabelle represents the ideal of a ‘champion’ journalist. She is a courageous reporter, covering issues such as a test scandal within the Atlanta Public School System; she is a detailed storyteller, getting to the heart of the personal stories from homeless people; she is diverse in her skills, providing excellent photography with her stories and utilizing social media to its fullest journalistic extent; she is an excellent leader, serving as editor-in-chief of her high school’s NSPA Pacemaker-winning newspaper The Southerner; she is heavily involved in her community, serving as a volunteer at a refugee center in Atlanta; and she is highly intelligent, accomplishing all the aforementioned tasks while ranking first in her class.”
