The Atlanta Board of Education has approved superintendent Erroll Davis Jr.’s recommendation to appoint Howard E. Taylor as the new Principal of North Atlanta High School.  The Board voted in favor of the recommendation during Monday’s board meeting.

Taylor is a veteran administrator who comes to Atlanta Public Schools after serving as principal of Lilburn Middle School in Gwinnet County since 2008.  Under Taylor’s leadership, the school achieved Title I distinguished School Status in 2009 and 2010.  The veteran administrator has also worked on the high school and college levels as an assistant principal and assistant professor respectively.

“I’m elated to have been given the opportunity to join this phenomenal team,” said Taylor.  “I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned from working as a college professor, principal and teacher to my work with the students and parents of North Atlanta,” he added.
