Submission of financial aid forms is the only way for students to become eligible for most scholar-ships, grants, work-study, and other types financial aid. Most colleges require financial aid forms be completed before they will pay out grants, scholar-ships, work-study, loans, or other types of federal, state, or institutional aid. According to the College Board, more than $154 billion in financial aid was awarded to undergraduate students in 2010-2011 with most students qualifying for some aid. The 2011 FAS pilot assisted 80 students in obtaining a total up to a maximum of $440,000 in Pell Grants for their first year of higher education! The maximum Pell Grant was $5,500!
