As the Fall comes to an end, champions are crowned. As fate would have it, Bunche Middle School and Drew Charter found themselves in an epic battle of the top tier teams in middle school softball.
These two teams participated in the first Atlanta Public Schools softball playoffs. On their way to the championship game, the young ladies of Bunche defeated Inman, Sutton, and Young in close games.  Following a first round bye, Drew Charter had to fend off Coan and C.S. King to punch their ticket to the championship game. True to the efforts that earned each team a place in the championship game, the competition on the field was intense. Both pitchers battled batter by batter to keep their teams in the game. There were approximately eight lead changes over the entire game, with Bunche Middle School edging out Drew Charter for the win.
Congratulations to all the young ladies that participated this year, and a special recognition for our 2011 Middle School Softball Champions the Bunche Middle School Lady Chargers!

Congratulations Bunche Family!
Congratulations Bunche Lady Chargers! The season was a GREAT one. I enjoyed working with all of you. You should be very proud of your accomplishments this year in the game of softball. Continue to strive to do your best in whatever you do. To my 8th graders stay steadfast in high school and continue to play the game. To the 7th graders and the 6th graders planning on playing next year we have a Title to uphold so the work will be hard. I look forward to a great year next year as well.
I love all of you. Coach Cynthia Dumas
Congratulations, Bunche Family! We are starting another legacy.
