ATLANTA – School Reform Team 3 Interim Executive Director Betsy Bockman has been appointed to the Georgia Supreme Court Committee on Justice for Children.  Her two-year term begins October 1, 2011.

The 25-member committee is charged by the Georgia Supreme Court with improving representation in juvenile court; working toward expediting appeals; providing child safety, permanency and judicial process measures for courts; and working toward ensuring placement stability for children in foster care.

Dr. Bockman is a former APS principal, who was recently appointed by Superintendent Erroll B. Davis to lead one of the four regional offices with responsibility for elementary and middle schools on the east side of the district.
