Forrest Hill Academy Debate Team wins awards during city-wide competition

The Forrest Hill Academy Debate Team brought home two awards and placed in several categories during the team’s inaugural participation in the John Lewis Atlanta Urban League City Championship competition at Emory University March 19.

The team participated in numerous tournaments throughout the school year and includes ninth-grade students Alvin Manuel, Joshua Cash and Darryl Momon, and 10th grade students Michael Watkins and Shontel Strickland.

Sirickland and Momon placed sixth in the top 10 teams, and Strickland also placed 11th in the top 15 debaters. The team also won the Newcomer Award and placed third in the Sweepsstakes Award.
