We were so excited for all of the APS student-athletes who participated in National Signing Day, preparing for the next step on their journey to success by gaining scholarships. But they weren’t just athletic scholarships, some of them earned academic scholarships. This was especially clear for the student-athletes from North Atlanta High, as we found out in this interview video posted above, which includes salutatorian Grace Shea (pictured above, right).
The rest of those interviewed above are girls soccer coach Zack Greenamyre, football-soccer player Jim Russel and soccer players Dara DeMateo and Grace Shea. Check out the other video interview that includes North Atlanta football player Marcus Mack, who will join Mays High’s Greg Eason at the U.S. Naval Academy. And that’s not even counting yet another player, Zack Wootten, who will attend Johns Hopkins University! Congratulations to all. And you have to give credit for Jim Russel singling out North Atlanta football coach Brian Montgomery for all he did this season, which included the team’s best record yet (7-3).
