APS schools, offices reopen after week-long closure; Slater Elementary relocates temporarily to Price Middle

APS schools and offices reopen Tuesday (Jan. 18), following a week-long closure due to hazardous road and travel conditions resulting from last week’s snow and ice storm. The decision to reopen the district follows a thorough assessment of road and travel conditions conducted by district Operations, Transportation, Security and Custodial department officials.

As the result of a water main break at Slater Elementary School, students will temporarily attend classes at Price Middle School, 1670 Bickers Drive, on Tuesday. Students who normally ride district buses to and from school at Slater Elementary will be picked up in the morning at their usual bus stops and taken to Price Middle for classes. The students’ parents and guardians are being advised of the temporary relocation of classes and will be kept updated on the progress of repairs at Slater Elementary.
