AT&T donates $500 to Finch Elementary

Finch Elementary received $500 from participants in AT&T’s Leadership Development Program on Dec. 3 in the school’s media center. The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is AT&T’s flagship talent management program that focuses on building innovative leaders.  AT&T provides program participants with challenging job assignments, continuing education and exposure to senior managers to hone leadership skills and build work experience across the company. LDP participants are recent college graduates from top colleges and universities.

The LDP Community Service Committee partnered with Finch Elementary to focus on early literacy and volunteered time working with the students and staff. To fund the donation in support of teachers, administrators, staff and 450 students at Finch Elementary, LDPs organized the Second-Annual Casino Night & Social Affair fundraiser on Oct. 15 at Stats Restaurant in Atlanta.

On Sept. 9, 20 LDPs spent the day presenting a reading curriculum on the subject of bullying. The group also recruited The Bright Star Theatre Company, a traveling interactive theater group, to perform “The Lady of Bullyburg” for the school and staff. LDPs made popcorn donated by the Atlanta Police Department.
