Gideons Elementary students celebrate Dr. King’s legacy

Two Gideons Elementary School students were recently recognized by the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation for creating their very own videos about what Dr. King’s legacy means to them.

Third-grader Nioma Yearwood and fourth-grader Avery Dixon were among 45 students from around the U.S. who received honorable mention for their video entry.  The King Foundation reviewed hundreds of videos from students nationwide before selecting honorable mentions and finalists.

Nioma and Avery will each get Build the Dream wristbands, limited-edition Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Commemorative coins, and a T-shirt.
