Mike Bigga’s fool-proof Career Day message for Harper-Archer students: Plot, plan, strategize, organize, mobilize

by talkupaps

That’s how simple Mike Bigga‘s message was when he returned to Harper-Archer Middle School for Career Day. The legendary Atlanta rapper, formerly known as Killer Mike, has been an incredibly positive voice in the community and has spoken at other school-related functions, having graduated from Douglass High. He mused to Letitia Goodman‘s eighth-grade English-language arts class on how he once spent summer school at Harper-Archer because he was doing so poorly at Douglass at the time. But he overcame that and a life of drug dealing to become a rapper and more recently a community activist. As you can see from the video above, Mike has a natural gift for keeping it real and delivering a pragmatic and useful message to the students — who got the message.

We’ll have more coverage on the Career Day activities throughout APS in tomorrow’s postings, focusing on Harper-Archer, Sylvan Hills Middle and others. For now, enjoy this video.
