WSB-TV news anchor Monica Pearson has some fierce competition waiting in the wings. Dunbar Elementary fifth-grader Angel Evans did a great job interviewing Patrick McCarthy, CEO of the Annie E. Casey Foundation today. (Check out the photos and click here for the interview.) McCarthy is in town to celebrate the grand opening on Friday of the Dunbar Educational Complex, which houses Dunbar Elementary as well as an Early Learning & Literacy Resource Center (ELLRC) run by Sheltering Arms. In a unique public-private partnership, the Dunbar facility delivers a strong educational foundation for children from six-weeks old through fifth grade. The Casey Foundation, established by UPS founder Jim Casey in honor of his mother, supports early learning programs throughout the country. But the Atlanta-based shipping company has a special affinity for Atlanta as well as Atlanta Public Schools, said McCarthy. Click here to get a virtual tour of the ELLRC, then visit TalkUpAPS.com tomorrow for more photos from the big event.
