Save the date: APS PEC parent focus groups, March 30-31

The Program of Exceptional Children (PEC) invites all Atlanta Public Schools’ PEC parents to attend a parent focus group. Parents/guardians are invited to participate by sharing their child’s experiences and their involvement in the program. The meeting will be facilitated by The Urban Special Education Leadership Collaborative, a network of special and general education leaders that is sponsored by the Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) of Newton, Mass.

The parent focus group is part of an independent audit commissioned by APS to help improve outcomes for students with disabilities. The report identifies what the district is doing well, and makes specific recommendations for improvement.
