APS bids farewell to Summer (Institutes)

Atlanta Public Schools will hold a celebration of the success of the Summer Institutes on Friday at the Center for Learning and Leadership auditorium. The celebration will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The event is highlighted by an awards ceremony for students, community employers, and staff who worked the program this summer. Guest speakers are Deborah Lum of the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency and Fulton County Superior Court Judge Marvin Arrington. The Summer Institutes is the collective name given to those activities and experiences that provide career exploration and job readiness training for students. It is the objective that these experiences will be aligned with the students’ post-secondary career and education plans.
