Parents of eighth-graders encouraged to attend today’s High Schools Showcase

APS offers its annual High Schools Showcase today (Thursday) and Friday at Atlanta Metropolitan College. (Directions here.) The showcase offers tips for incoming freshmen, such as setting goals, understanding graduation requirements, developing study habits; extra-curricular options and volunteer requirements that will bolster their high school transcripts for prospective colleges; and financial-aid opportunities like the HOPE scholarship. Information booths for partner organizations are sprinkled in with the high school booths to highlight the supporting partnerships APS has developed.

Following this morning’s session (9:30 a.m.1:30 p.m.), parents of eighth-graders are encouraged to attend the afternoon session from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tomorrow’s session runs 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. as well. For more information, check out this flyer.
